Week 4 Results
This week saw us lose 3 out of the 4 league games with some tense finishes. The Sunday cup game was forfeited which sees us move forward in the Middlesex Cup.
Our 1s were away to North Middlesex and set a score of 218 thanks to a partnership up top from Bavan (56) and Shiv (45). Our middle / lower order put up a good fight with some quick runs at the end to give us a competitive total.
North Middlesex got off to a relatively smooth start but with our bowlers all chipping in with a wicket we were able to set up a close finish. The last 5 overs saw the game in the balance with North Middlesex needing to go at 7s whilst we needed 2 wickets. The game went down to the final over with them needing 12 and they managed to see it home with a couple of maximums.
The 2s continued their perfect start with another 6 wickets victory. Nishad and Weshal barely gave South Hampstead a sniff in the first 10 which set our spinners up nicely. Saky and Vedant took 7 wickets between them and left the final 3 for skipper Jaimit and Dileep to clean up.
In reply we found ourselves 3 down due to some good seam bowling from South Hampstead. A partnership between Saky (76 off 52) and Jaimit (21 off 26) took us most of the way there to see us go 4 from 4.
The 3s were away to Harrow and saw them put on a large total of 313. Salman and Gunny took 8 between them. In response we lost a few early wickets which made the task even more challenging. A 58 from skipper Arj alongside some good knocks around him took us to a respectable 248.
The 4s batted first against OMTs and put on a score of 158 with Amit Shah (47) anchoring the innings alongside knocks from some of the middle/lower order.
Nirmit Shah started our defence off well by taking a few early ones which was supported by the other bowlers. The bowlers all maintained low economies which helped take the game to the final over but OMTs 9 down held their nerve to take the win.
